Job summary

Chromalloy in Carson City, NV seeks a Senior Machining Process Engineer to provide technical and production support for gas turbine systems. You will develop and optimize CNC machining processes, create fixtures and tools, and troubleshoot existing processes.

The role leads project teams and applies Lean methodologies while collaborating with the Chromalloy Engineering team on new parts and technology implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and CAM programming (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with multi-axis milling and grinding; Okuma experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/Lean tools and strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop fixturing, tooling, and CNC programs for milling and grinding turbine components.
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality to ensure flawless production and part quality.
• Apply CI and Lean tools to continuously improve processes and implement tooling/equipment improvements.
• Lead project teams on new designs, repairs, and process enhancements.
• Utilize project management skills to meet technical, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
• Collaborate with Chromalloy Engineering on new parts, repairs, and technology implementation.
• Implement innovative methods that positively impact business metrics.
