Job summary

Chromalloy in Carson City, NV seeks a Senior Machining Process Engineer to provide technical and production support for gas turbine systems. You will develop and optimize CNC machining processes, create fixtures and tools, and troubleshoot existing processes.

The role leads project teams and applies Lean methodologies while collaborating with the Chromalloy Engineering team on new parts and technology implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and CAM programming (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with multi-axis milling and grinding; Okuma experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/Lean tools and strong project management skills.

Abut the Role:

As a Senior Machining Process Engineer, your responsibilities include providing technical and production support for gas turbine systems in aerospace and industrial applications. You’ll develop and optimize CNC machining processes, create new fixtures and tools, and troubleshoot existing processes. Additionally, you’ll lead project teams, apply Lean methodologies, and collaborate with the Chromalloy Engineering team on new parts, repairs, and technology implementation.

What You'll Do:

• Develop fixturing, tooling, and CNC programs for Milling and Grinding of turbine components.
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure flawless production and perfect part quality.
• Apply CI and Lean tools and methodologies to continuously improve our processes. Identify, develop and implement tooling/equipment improvements.
• Lead project teams working on new designs, repairs, and process enhancements.
• Utilize project management skills to drive successful outcomes within technical, budgetary, and schedule requirements.
• Engage with the Chromalloy Engineering team to develop new parts, repairs, and cutting-edge technologies.

What You Bring:

• A Bachelor’s degreein Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as an Engineer in the Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design discipline
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3D CAD Modeling and CAM Programming (Siemens NX Preferred)
• Experience with Multi-Axis Milling and Grinding. (Okuma experience preferred.)
• Familiarity with Continuous Improvement, Lean tools & methodologies, and strong project management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environmentand a track record of delivering results.
• Knowledge of FAA Guidelines for PMA and RS-DER Requirementsis a plus
