The University of Dayton, Ohio invites qualified applicants for the Senior Machining & Advanced Manufacturing Technician opening in the Advanced Manufacturing lab. This role leads hands-on work in additive manufacturing, precision machining, and sustainment solutions.

You will operate 4- and 5-axis CNC machines, mentor junior technicians, manage lab maintenance, and advise on manufacturability and part setup for government and industry projects.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years in conventional machining for metals (milling, turning, EDM).
Experience with 4- and 5-axis CNC milling and CNC lathe for complex geometries.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and multi-axis part programming.
Attention to detail and lab/operational discipline.
U.S. citizenship due to federal government contracts.

Responsibilities

Lead hands-on machining and additive manufacturing lab activities.
Provide guidance on design for manufacturability and setup of parts.
Maintain equipment and manage lab spare parts and procurements.
Mentor and lead technicians, ensuring adherence to lab policies.
