Job summary

The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) invites qualified applicants to apply for the Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineer position in Dayton, OH. This role supports the Advanced Manufacturing Operations Group and will become an additive manufacturing process owner, developing CAD models and build files, and routing parts across the operation.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Materials, Industrial) or related discipline.
2+ years manufacturing/process engineering experience (R1).
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) proficiency.
Experience designing/drawing with CAD software.
Familiar with heat treatment, forging, grinding, casting, additive manufacturing.
Understanding of material properties for aerospace materials and quality systems (AS9100/ISO 9001).
Strong verbal and written communication; proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions for additive manufacturing, machining, and post-processing.
Create CAD and additive build files to support development.
Identify and communicate process-improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with machinists, technicians, and engineering teams to solve complex manufacturing problems.
Evaluate next-gen technology related to additive manufacturing and post-processing.
Travel to customer sites or project locations as needed.
