Job summary

Cognex Corporation is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join our Applications Engineering team in the United States. You will guide high-complexity Cognex solutions, integrating vision systems with PLCs and controllers, and provide advanced troubleshooting and technical options to drive sales.

You will share findings, create trainings for the AE community, and ensure timely reporting. Travel up to 50% is required; strong English communication and safety-awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
• Typically 4–6 years of experience in technical application development; related/high-tech industry preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call; travel up to 50% may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; work in industrial environments with safety guidelines.
• English language proficiency (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Provides application guidance for high-complexity Cognex products and prioritizes accordingly.
• Integrates Cognex products with PLCs, PCs, and controllers; troubleshoots complex applications.
• Delivers technical options to Sales and supports winning opportunities with customers.
• Documents findings and creates trainings for the Applications Engineering community.
• Maintains timely business systems and on-going product feedback to improve offerings.
