Qualifications

• Expert hands-on machine-tool building and precision alignment.
• Broad understanding of mechanical structures, axes, spindles, dressers, and fluid systems.
• Ability to diagnose problems crossing design, machining, assembly, controls, and process boundaries.
• History of delivering complex machines through power-up, runoff, correction, and acceptance.
• Leadership through technical credibility and personal workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Set build strategy, sequence, tooling, inspection points, and staffing for complex machines.
• Lead first builds and difficult alignment work and recovery of machines with system-level issues.
• Establish assembly standards, signoff criteria, checklists, fixtures, measurement methods, and training plans.
• Review designs for assembly access, alignment method, contamination control, serviceability, and long-term reliability.
• Coordinate final mechanical readiness with engineering, controls, applications, quality, service, and management.
• Develop senior builders and preserve practical machine-building knowledge.
