Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Pueblo, CO is seeking a Senior Manager for the machine shop to lead a high‑performing team onsite. You will drive safety, efficiency, and quality while coordinating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Control and Quality.

The role demands strong leadership, deep experience in manufacturing, and a continuous improvement mindset to meet production commitments with precision and consistency. On-site access and collaboration across shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience analyzing data and applying structured problem‑solving methods to drive effective decisions and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership for the machine shop, overseeing supervisors and production teams while ensuring a safe, compliant work environment.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to support efficient operations and meet schedules.
• Coordinate and monitor workflow across all levels to maintain output on priority tasks.
• Offer technical guidance on machining challenges and process decisions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Control, and Quality to resolve schedule/quality issues.
• Champion a proactive safety culture through audits, coaching, and daily engagement.
• Lead employee development via coaching, reviews, and talent decisions.
• Address team concerns and foster a high-engagement workplace across shifts.
• Drive continuous improvement using LEAN, TPM, 5S and driver-measure practices.
• Partner with Maintenance for timely resolution of machine issues and preventive improvements.
• Support business travel up to 10%
