Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Machine Operator in the Sioux Falls area to advance operation, setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of plastic film and bag production. You will mentor peers, lead changeovers, and drive safety, quality, and yield improvements across shifts.

The role emphasizes independence, urgency, ownership, and collaboration with maintenance, QA, and supervision to uphold GMP/HACCP standards and efficient production.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years of Machine Operator experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing.
• Ability to independently run and troubleshoot production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion, air, ring, printing, and downstream equipment to targets.
• Lead safety inspections and correct unsafe conditions across shifts.
• Mentor operators on specs and reduce scrap through adjustments.
• Lead efficient changeovers and set up for startups to improve yields.
• Diagnose complex equipment issues and support maintenance efforts.
• Train and support new machine operators and Packers.
• Communicate across shifts with maintenance, QA, and supervision.
• Maintain housekeeping and proper shutdown procedures.
