Job summary

Maker's Pride is seeking a packaging operator for the 3rd shift in Michigan City. You will perform setups, run multiple machines, and ensure packaging quality meets customer specs. This role requires reliability and adherence to GMPs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include loading materials, observing machine operation, sorting rejects, and maintaining clean work areas. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably baking/packaging.
• Basic math and reading skills required.
• Excellent communication, decision-making and organizational skills.
• Ability to work safely on any shift (8-12 hours/day), weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Performs set-ups, makes minor adjustments and operates mechanical packaging equipment during a shift on a variety of machines.
• Supply/load trays, flexible packaging or cartons into machines as needed.
• Must be able to observe machine operation at all times.
• Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is packed.
• Remove/sort unacceptable product and place in designated containers.
• Read scales to check packaging weights and adjust machines accordingly.
