Job summary

Amentum's Advanced Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer in Greenville, SC (with offices in TN and MI). You will lead multi-disciplinary teams on complex programs, delivering designs that meet schedule and budget goals in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years of progressive machine design experience, strong GD&T/ASTM Y14.5 knowledge, and hands-on CAD/FEA expertise to guide projects from concept through detailed drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical or Aerospace from ABET-accredited program.
Minimum 15 years of progressive machine design experience.
Demonstrated experience leading engineers and drafters.
Design for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Experience with GD&T per ASTM Y14.5.
Scope, schedule, and budget management.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage machine design projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
Produce complete design packages including drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Coordinate reviews with other disciplines and project clients.
Develop technical reports, 3D concepts, and calculations for management.
Guide design team and ensure client satisfaction.
