Amentum is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer for its Advanced Solutions Group. The candidate may be based at Farmington Hills, MI, or other listed offices, and will lead multi-disciplinary machine design projects in a dynamic environment.
The role requires 15+ years of progressive machine design experience, strong GD&T and FEA skills, and proven leadership to guide engineers and drafters from concept through to delivery.

Our Advanced Solutions Group delivers the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities across the nuclear, automotive, motorsports, defense, and aerospace industries. Most of your designs will be unique, and you will usually be working on several projects at one time in a dynamic, challenging, and even fun environment. Many designs are “blank sheet of paper,” with few analogs or comparisons. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to lead and manage Machine Design projects as part of a multi-discipline team of professionals. We are looking for a Machine Design engineer who will work to ensure client satisfaction and deliver key Machine Design projects within scope, budget, and schedule. You should be a self-motivated professional with at least 15+ years of progressive Machine Design experience.
Projects are often complex and multi-discipline, and Senior Engineers in E&P have ownership of the technical, schedule, and budget performance of the work assigned to them, and are expected to operate with general instructions in an independent mode.
The Senior Engineer:
$140,000 - $180,000
