Caterpillar EMD's Peoria Proving Ground division is hiring for a Sr. Test & Validation Engineer (machine controls) in Peoria, IL.

The role focuses on planning, executing validation of electronic and electrical subsystems across steering, transmission, braking, and displays. You will troubleshoot complex issues, install test hardware, flash software, and validate at the machine level using CAT ET, CadetWin, and Vector CANape, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive robust performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accredited Engineering or Computer Science or related fields.
• Ability to investigate machine software and controls related issues and determine root causes.
• Experience documenting validation activities and communicating findings.
• Knowledge of machine control system architecture and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work with cross-functional product teams on validation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system issues on heavy equipment.
• Install, configure, and remove test hardware supporting machine software development.
• Flash software and perform machine-level software validation and verification testing.
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Document validation activities using established engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams leveraging expertise in control systems.
