Job summary
Caterpillar East Peoria, IL seeks an L6E Sr. Software and Technology Validation Engineer to lead validation across Earthmoving products. You will develop risk-based strategies, drive SIL/HIL testing, and collaborate with software, controls, and product teams to ensure quality, performance and reliability.
The role emphasizes automation, traceability, and coordinating validation priorities while mentoring engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
- Experience in software, controls, or integrated machine technology development and validation.
- Two or more validation areas: embedded software, SIL/HIL, or automation/testing, etc.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for software and technology validation across Earthmoving products.
- Develop risk-based validation strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead validation execution using SIL, HIL, bench, and machine testing.
- Collaborate in requirements and design reviews, maintain traceability across tests.
- Drive root cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
- Improve validation efficiency with automated testing and CI/CD integration.
- Coordinate validation priorities, schedules, and resources; mentor engineers.
