Job summary

Jobot seeks a Senior Microsoft 365 Messaging & Governance Engineer to design, implement, and mature governance across Exchange Online and Teams in a large Microsoft 365 environment. You will partner with security, compliance, IT, and business units to enforce retention, DLP, external sharing, and lifecycle management while delivering automation and scalable controls.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in Microsoft 365 messaging governance, strong scripting in PowerShell, and experience shaping

Qualifications

Requires 7+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 messaging, governance, or engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams.
Experience designing or significantly improving governance standards for Microsoft 365.
Proficiency with Microsoft Purview, including retention, DLP, and sensitivity labels.
Experience with lifecycle management, access controls, and sharing governance.
Strong PowerShell experience within Microsoft 365.
Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API for automation and reporting.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and improve governance policies for Exchange Online and Teams.
Establish standards around provisioning, archival, and deletion of resources.
Develop lifecycle management for mailboxes, Groups, and Teams.
Configure retention policies, tagging, and DLP within Purview.
Create governance policies for external sharing, guest access, and permissions.
Develop automation and reporting using PowerShell, Graph API, and Power Automate.
