Job summary

Nationwide seeks an AVP, Corporate Development to lead mergers & acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships. You will oversee the full lifecycle from opportunity identification and due diligence to negotiation, closing, integration and value realization, while guiding cross-functional teams and external advisors.

You will build market insight, conduct rigorous financial analysis, and present evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders in a dynamic, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, strategy or related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience: 12+ years in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity or related field.
• Proven track record leading complex transactions from due diligence to integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, screening and prioritization of inorganic growth opportunities.
• Direct comprehensive opportunity assessments including market analysis, strategic fit and valuation.
• Oversee transaction execution from initial contact to closing and integration.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors with disciplined governance.
• Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, PE firms and strategic partners.
• Lead, coach and develop Corporate Development teams and senior leaders.
