Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an AVP, Corporate Development to lead mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments. You will guide evaluations, due diligence, structuring, negotiation and post-close integration while coordinating with internal executives and external advisors.

You will oversee a team, drive value realization, and build relationships with banks, PE firms, and other partners to advance Nationwide’s growth agenda.

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years of progressively responsible experience in corporate development or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex transactions including due diligence, valuation and integration.
• Executive presence with ability to influence across functions and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive workstreams with governance and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Development agenda and prioritize inorganic growth opportunities.
• Direct comprehensive opportunity assessments including market, fit, valuation and scenarios.
• Drive transaction execution from initial contact through closing with internal and external partners.
• Oversee integration planning and execution for acquired or partnered businesses.
• Maintain relationships with banks, PE firms, and strategic investors to support execution.
• Partner with senior leaders to align decisions with corporate priorities and risk controls.
