Job summary

Coinbase seeks a senior M&A and Accounting Policy Manager to lead financial due diligence and end-to-end purchase accounting across the M&A lifecycle. You will evolve accounting policies in partnership with Legal, Tax, Controllership, and Corporate Development, delivering high-quality disclosures for 10-Q/10-K filings and ensuring SOX controls are effective.

The role reports to the Director of Reporting and Technical Accounting Policy, applying deep US GAAP expertise to new business activities

Qualifications

• Nine+ years of progressive accounting experience with Big4 public accounting and industry exposure.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge including ASC 805, ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 810.
• Proven experience leading financial due diligence, including quality of earnings analysis and working capital assessment.
• Ability to draft technical accounting memos and original financial statement disclosures with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence on target companies, including quality of earnings analysis and deal-relevant risks.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting for completed acquisitions under ASC 805, including PPA and goodwill.
• Drive accounting for strategic investments under ASC 321, 323, and 810, including equity method and fair value option.
• Shape and evolve Coinbase's accounting policies through technical memos for new products.
• Deliver disclosures for 10-Q/10-K and ensure SOX controls are designed and operating.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Tax, FP&A, Controllership, and Corporate Development on new launches and integrations.
