Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Boston seeks a senior accounting professional to lead complex investments accounting, from deal evaluation through ongoing reporting, partnering with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Finance, and technology teams.

You will own month-end close, perform analyses under U.S. GAAP (ASC 321/323/815/820), and help design scalable processes for a growing portfolio. CPA preferred; Big Four experience valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA preferred for preferred qualifications.
• Knowledge of COSO internal control framework to assess control design and operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
• Experience in Big Four accounting with Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and nonstandard investment transactions and advise on financial reporting impact.
• Lead technical accounting analyses under U.S. GAAP (ASC 321, 323, 815, 820).
• Own accounting and reporting for a portfolio through the transaction lifecycle.
• Collaborate with valuation and internal stakeholders on fair value and disclosures.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate accounting conclusions clearly.
• Identify process and data-quality risks and design scalable solutions.
• Support audits and external reporting with clear documentation.
