Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and optimize production systems for avionics hardware and spacecraft components at our Seattle facility. You will lead DFx, DFA, DFM efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and cost efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in manufacturing and experience creating clear work instructions. Relocation is available; the role supports production in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
• 5+ years creating English work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) or approved status.
• Must be able to work second shift and be flexible to move shifts; extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products across solar arrays, integration/test, avionics, and structures.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production to accelerate build-to-space roadmaps.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
• Ensure alignment with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards.
