Blue Origin LLC is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to design cryogenic fluid systems and supporting hardware for the Lunar Permanence program. You will generate Creo models and drawings, evaluate manufacturability, and collaborate with supply chain to manage vendors.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, proficiency in ANSYS, and GD&T with ASME Y14.5. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or eligible to work in the U.S. This is a full-time, on-site position within the Lunar Permanence team.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 8+ years designing cryogenic tubes and fluid components.
• Experience generating 3D Creo models/drawings for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts.
• Experience performing structural calculations/analysis with ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&ID diagrams (P&ID).
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T expertise.
• Experience with static and non-linear FEA (ANSYS).
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Generate CAD models for hypergolic and/or helium fluid system hardware.
• Lead design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies.
• Work with supply chain to procure hardware and manage vendor deliverables.
• Define and implement supporting hardware such as heaters, instrumentation, mounts, and valves.
• Performing basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware.
