Job summary

Core Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Low Voltage Designer to lead telecom and low‑voltage infrastructure across our data center portfolio. You will define standards, oversee structured cabling, fiber, OSP, security, BAS/EPMS, DAS, and RoIP, coordinating with architects, MEPs, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 7+ years of telecommunications infrastructure design and implementation, incl. 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience with hyperscale data centers, or large campus infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, OSP, security, BAS/EPMS, and DAS.
• Certifications: RCDD, CNIDP, CDCDP, or PSP; PMP/RTPM or related certs are a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Bluebeam, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and improve telecommunications and low‑voltage design standards and templates.
• Lead design of structured cabling, fiber, OSP, security, BAS/EPMS, DAS, and RoIP systems.
• Review construction documents and ensure compliance with standards.
• Manage full project lifecycle from planning to turnover.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Define scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Develop bills of materials, cost estimates, and procurement strategies.
• Monitor milestones, risks, and quality to meet business objectives.
• Provide technical direction as the telecommunications SME.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and quality inspections.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and field modifications.
• Coordinate pathways, cable trays, conduit routing, power, and cooling.
• Mentor and develop internal design resources.
• Approve design deliverables produced by teams.
• Support contractor qualification and performance management.
• Build relationships with leaders, construction teams, and vendors.
• Stay current on emerging data center infra trends and digital design workflows.
• Foster open communication within the team and across the organization.
