Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. in Adger, AL is seeking a Supervisor Maintenance LW to lead a crew of hourly technicians on the longwall section. You will direct daily maintenance tasks, ensure safety, and meet production goals.

The role requires MSHA electrician certification or ability to obtain, strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance, and the ability to coordinate schedules, parts, and records. We expect at least 5 years of underground mining maintenance experience and the ability to

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience in longwall mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Supervisor/crew lead experience preferred; union supervisory experience a plus.
• Must be MSHA certified electrician (or ability to obtain) and understand MSHA regulations.
• Mine Foreman Certification or ability to obtain.
• Must communicate with others on shift and on adjacent shifts.
• Willing to work on any assigned shift and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crew to ensure longwall availability goals are met, directing employees, enforcing safe practices and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee longwall mechanical and electrical work, coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure parts are delivered to and from designated work areas and maintain daily maintenance records.
• Conduct crew safety and informational meetings.
• Complete employees' daily time records in Kronos.
• Monitor and maintain flow of parts and inventory.
• Communicate major problems to Longwall Maintenance Coordinator.
• Ensure incidents and near misses are reported and investigated per standards.
