Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
  • IATF certification and experience supporting audits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NMFC, freight classifications, LTL tariffs.
  • Experience with U.S. DOT PHMSA hazardous materials regulations.
  • Export compliance experience including documentation and denied-party screening.
  • Experience with carriers, freight providers, and freight management operations.
  • Advanced Excel for data analysis, reporting, and trends.

The Senior Logistics & Transportation Coordinator will oversee transportation execution, freight management, carrier performance, export compliance, and logistics analytics to ensure products move safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively throughout the supply chain. This individual will serve as a key liaison between carriers, operations, finance, customer service, and distribution partners while helping drive transportation excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day transportation activities for domestic and international shipments, including FTL, LTL, and specialty freight movements.
  • Monitor carrier performance, service levels, transit times, and delivery metrics to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Analyze freight costs, transportation trends, and operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Support transportation planning activities and proactively address supply chain disruptions or service challenges.
Carrier Relations & Vendor Management:
  • Partner with transportation providers to maintain competitive service and pricing agreements.
  • Lead carrier evaluation, qualification, and onboarding activities.
  • Participate in carrier reviews, performance assessments, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external logistics partners to improve delivery reliability and transportation efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance & International Shipping:
  • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, hazardous materials, and export regulations.
  • Maintain accurate export documentation and support international shipping requirements.
  • Conduct denied-party screening activities and help ensure adherence to trade compliance standards.
  • Support transportation audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain transportation performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Utilize advanced Excel capabilities to analyze freight spending, service performance, and operational trends.
  • Prepare actionable recommendations for leadership based on logistics data and key performance indicators.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, freight audits, and cost-reduction projects.
Operational Excellence:
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, customer service, warehouse, and finance teams to improve logistics performance.
  • Investigate transportation issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic supply chain initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
  • IATF certification and experience supporting second-party supplier or carrier audits is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC), freight classifications, density-based rating structures, and LTL tariff methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. DOT PHMSA hazardous materials transportation regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S. export compliance, including export documentation, denied-party screening, and applicable trade requirements.
  • Experience working with transportation carriers, freight providers, third-party logistics partners, or freight management operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and trend analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), or other logistics technology platforms.
  • Background in a transportation or logistics role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $87,000

Benefits Offered: 2 weeks of vacation, paid sick leave where applicable by state law, Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance Vision Insurance, 401K, and Life Insurance.
