Job summary

The Suddath Companies in North Charleston, SC is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee location operations, staffing of employees and Independent Contractors, and to maintain strong customer relationships. You will guide performance and ensure effective communication while driving operational excellence.

Lead budgeting, process improvements, and safety initiatives, while ensuring compliance with laws and delivering a first-class customer experience across the operation.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or related industry.
• Experience managing an employee team.
• Experience working with Independent Contractors.
• Knowledge of managing financial performance.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Degree in Business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and develop staff and Independent Contractors/Drivers.
• Evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure a positive Customer Experience.
• Ensure policies and procedures are consistently applied.
• Monitor KPIs and drive process improvements.
• Lead regular team meetings and training.
• Assist budget planning for equipment, vehicles, and staffing.
• Oversee compliance with applicable laws and safety standards.
