Job summary

Suddath is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the execution and performance of a location’s operations, including staffing, customer relationships, and budget adherence. You will oversee staff and Independent Contractors, drive safety and quality, and coordinate with vendors to achieve service excellence.

The role requires five years in transportation or logistics, people leadership, and strong financial awareness. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; a four-year degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in transportation or logistics.
• Experience managing an employee team.
• Experience working with Independent Contractors.
• Knowledge of managing financial performance.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Four (4) year college degree in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Must maintain a clear and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment and development strategy of staff and/or Independent Contractors/Drivers.
• Evaluate staff and/or Independent Contractors performance – modify strategies as necessary.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with customers and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Ensure practices, policies and procedures are enforced and consistently implemented.
• Schedule and participate in negotiations with Vendors, Contractors and Service Providers to secure best value.
• Maintain a safe working environment and promote a culture of safety.
• Review KPIs and implement process improvement strategies.
• Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to improve performance.
• Assist in developing plan of annualized equipment, vehicle, and staffing needs for budgeting.
• Display involvement in P&L performance and budget alignment.
