Applicants should have a Bachelor's (and preferably a Master's) in Industrial Engineering, 5+ years in operations/engineering, and exposure to Lean/JIT principles and simulation tools.

Senior Logistics Engineer – Novi, MI (Hybrid)

We are immediately hiring a Senior Logistics Engineer in Novi, MI (Hybrid) for our Supply Chain Solutions division.

Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month. Annual Salary Pay: $85,000 - $90,000.00 per year based on experience. Bonus: Annually 10%. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Hybrid).

Summary: This Senior Engineer Logistics is responsible to provide supply chain engineering leadership and support for a regional business team assigned to a global aerospace manufacturer. Duties include responsibilities for design, engineering, strategy and process management. This position will be involved in the on-going sales process, implementation of their designs and assisting operations management with continuous improvement. It also manages multiple projects in size and complexity, provides proposal, presentation development, support and presentation to customers. Will require complex problem solving, problem definition and project planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides supply chain support to our global industry and regional business teams
• Design and engineering of supply chain services that include network analysis, transportation, distribution management, analysis, strategy, multi-client and process management
• Involvement in the sales process, and implementation of their designs and assisting operations management with continuous improvement
• Proposal and presentation support, problem-solving, managing multiple projects, facility layout design, determination of material handling requirements, documentation information and product flow, route, schedule and DCC fleet utilizing ILPS technical writing and costing analysis
• Provides lead role for customer program Engineering and analysis requirements
• Direct interaction with customer contacts and suppliers to gather necessary data elements and document applicable business rules, support of operations and customer initiatives, development of Engineering projects and presentation of proposals, implementation support and continuous improvement
• Perform all job duties related to meeting SARBOX requirements and participating in the account quality certification process
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• 5 years or more in experience in Operations and Engineering
• 5 years or more in experience that includes simulation packaging training
• Preferred: Visio, Project Plan or Auto CAD, vendor managed inventory, Auto Mod, consulting and Access Intermediate
• Knowledge of Aerospace – Intermediate
• Preferred: Will have prior understanding of LEAN manufacturing and JIT principles and incorporation of such principles into effective logistics network planner – Intermediate, Preferential
