Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Arlington, TX is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of a multi-shift logistics team. You will supervise Supply Chain Ops Supervisors, SNE and hourly staff, drive safety and quality, and partner with cross-functional teams to meet service goals.

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
  • Two years or more in logistics, warehouse or related field.
  • Two years or more of supervisory experience required.
  • Three years or more of problem solving experience; formal Root Cause/Countermeasure exposure preferred.
  • WMS and MHE knowledge at intermediate level.
  • OSHA knowledge at intermediate level; DOT/Hazmat knowledge preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills; Lean principles exposure, beginner preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Supply Chain Ops Supervisors and hourly employees; provide coaching and training.
  • Communicate facility goals daily and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Hire, train and manage exempt and hourly staff in the work groups.
  • Identify operational issues and drive continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
  • Maintain safety procedures and enforce location safety management plans.
  • Track time, attendance, performance feedback and administrative tasks.

Job Description

We are immediately hiring a Supply Chain Ops Manager in Arlington, TX, for our Supply Chain Solutions division.

Pay Type: Salaried Exempt / Paid Bi-Monthly

Target Salary: $70,000 - $74,000/year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm, plus Saturdays as scheduled. Flexibility needed to work Saturdays as necessary to meet business needs, operation runs 6 days per week.

Supply Chain/Logistics management experience preferred. Automotive manufacturing materials management experience is preferred. Experience managing, coaching, and developing employees is preferred.

The Supply Chain Operations Manager is responsible for the operational function(s) of assigned work group(s) in a Supply Chain Logistics operation. This position provides direct supervision of Supply Chain Ops Supervisors, SNE and other hourly employees. This role ensures compliance with company and location policies, procedures and work instructions in order to provide a safe and productive work environment, optimum customer service and accurate records. Position may directly interface with customer contact, processes, systems, routines, etc. May interact with carriers and/or customer depending on the complexity and scope of the organization. All work is subject to review by the location hierarchy and Ryder Corporate Process Owners such as Finance, Human Resources, Safety, etc. Error could result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of profit, safety or security incidents

Essential Functions
  • Communicate daily/shift goal of facility and group(s)
  • Devise, communicate and implement plans to obtain operational goals
  • Work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement
  • Provide progress or constraint updates to management and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Provide leadership for Supply Chain Ops Supervisors, SNE and hourly employees through in depth training and continuous review of employee understanding of policies, procedures and processes
  • Create a productive work environment through effective communication, coaching, motivating and leading by example
  • Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) which includes, but is not limited to implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity, customer facing meetings, location approval processes, exposure to other locations, and results
  • Hire, train and supervise exempts and/or hourly employees in the assigned work group(s)
  • Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s)
  • Perform administrative functions to include tracking of time, attendance and performance feedback
  • Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes
  • Assign employees to individual tasks and ensure required tools are available
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with employees, peers and management
  • Strong organizational, follow-up and computer skills required
  • Ability to work self directed with minimal supervision

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type: Salaried

Minimum Pay Range: $70,000

Maximum Pay Range: $74,000
