Job summary

Americold is seeking a Claims Manager to oversee warehouse and transportation claims, including cargo damage, loss, demurrage, and detention. The role requires coordinating investigations, communicating with carriers, customers, and internal teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities include assigning costs, preparing reports, and maintaining ongoing stakeholder communication, with occasional travel to support operations and claims processing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in transportation, warehouse operations, or claims processing.
• At least 2 years in exception management (over/short, damage, detention, demurrage).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, tort, damages, and subrogation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Administer all claims related to warehouse and transportation operations including cargo damage and loss, demurrage, and detention.
• Investigate claims, communicate with involved parties, resolve claims, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare reports, assign costs, and maintain ongoing communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Travel as needed to support operations and claims resolution.
