Job summary

Ascent Healthcare Management seeks a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead day-to-day operations at a Western North Carolina facility. You will oversee clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, budgeting, staffing, and resident care, reporting to regional/corporate leadership.

In this senior role you will shape culture, drive quality initiatives, manage census and financial performance, and collaborate with families, regulators, and partners to ensure dignity and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Valid NC Nursing Home Administrator license (or eligible) per state requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or related field; master’s degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in long-term care administration or comparable facility leadership role.
• Demonstrated skills in financial management, budgeting, staffing, HR, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
• Strong leadership, communication, public-relations, conflict-resolution, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed (nights/weekends/holidays).

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all facility departments — clinical, administrative, custodial, dietary, maintenance, and support services.
• Oversee admissions, care coordination, resident well-being, and discharge processes; ensure residents’ care plans are implemented and families are kept informed.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including licensing requirements for nursing home administrators. Develop, manage, and monitor the facility budget — including revenue, expenses, staffing costs, and overall financial performance.
• Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate all levels of staff; foster a supportive, stable, high-performance culture.
• Coordinate with leadership to meet occupancy and census targets; collaborate on facility marketing, community outreach, and referral relationships.
• Lead quality-improvement initiatives, safety programs, resident satisfaction efforts, and periodic performance reviews.
• Serve as point-of-contact and liaison with regulatory authorities, families, community partners, and corporate leadership.
