Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks a compassionate Driver to safely transport residents to appointments and activities. You will assist residents with boarding and deboarding, ensuring comfort and safety during trips.

Ideal candidates have a clean driving history, excellent customer service, and strong organization. The role supports resident programs and may involve assisting with events within a senior living community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid state driver’s license is required; CDL may be required per state.
• Passenger endorsement may be required by state regulations.
• Three years of driving experience preferred, especially with passengers or seniors.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for residents to appointments, activities, and outings.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle; use wheelchair lift or stairs as needed.
• Ensure resident safety and satisfaction; account for all residents when leaving/returning.
• Prepare the van/bus for operation and coordinate basic vehicle maintenance.
• Keep vehicle licenses, inspections, and insurance up to date as required.
• Follow traffic laws and safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain a current driving license per state requirements.
• Assist in resident programs and events as needed.
• Build positive relationships with residents through friendly conversation during trips.
