Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is hiring a Sous Chef at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh in Naples, FL. You will oversee and assist all food production and back-of-house activities, ensuring quality, cost controls and adherence to dietary guidelines.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in culinary arts and at least three years as a Chef/Kitchen Manager, plus a recognized food safety course. Benefits include comprehensive plans and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred.
• Minimum of three years as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a food service environment.
• Successful completion of a recognized food safety course.

Responsibilities

• Assists chef with planning, staffing, organizing and coordinating the preparation of all meals in all levels of care.
• Helps plan menus and menu cycles according to cultural and regional preferences and resident dietary guidelines.
• Monitors quality, temperature, portion control, palatability and presentation; implements changes to maintain standards.
• Manages labor actuals and time clock to ensure budget compliance.
• Supervises kitchen staff and advises on cooking methods and portion sizes.
