Job summary

The Hermitage is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team in Sylva, NC. The PCA will provide direct care to residents, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Empathy, attention to detail, and a respectful approach to promoting independence are essential. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, meal support, hydration, and mobility, while monitoring health, reporting changes, and supporting engagement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of PCA/CNA or caregiver training preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of personal care or healthcare experience advised.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Support meals, hydration, and feeding assistance as needed.
• Observe health changes and report to nursing staff, with medication reminders as directed.
• Foster companionship and encourage participation in activities for well‑being.
• Maintain clean, safe living areas and follow infection control protocols.
