Job summary

The Hermitage in Sylva, NC seeks a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct resident care and support with ADLs, dignity, and independence. The role emphasizes empathy, attention to detail, and teamwork in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, mobility, health monitoring, and companionship, while following safety protocols and infection control standards. CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved PCA, CNA, or caregiver training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in personal care, senior living, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to residents, assisting with ADLs and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Observe and report changes in residents' health and behavior to the nursing team; assist with medication reminders as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with residents through companionship and meaningful interactions; encourage participation in activities.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain safety standards; respond promptly to emergencies per procedures.
