Sunrise Senior Living in Maryland is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our community safe, clean, and well‑functioning for residents and staff. You will complete assigned tasks, perform basic repairs, assist with painting, and support HVAC and preventative maintenance.

This role emphasizes safety and compliance, with opportunities to participate in emergency drills, maintain tools and inventory, and contribute to a positive, bright environment through reliable day‑to‑day operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance and use of hand tools preferred.
• Ability to perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances).
• Commitment to safety and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures)
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory
• Support carpet and floor care as needed
• Assist with suite "make-ready" preparation
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills
• Drive community vehicle as assigned
• You play a key role in safety, compliance, and day-to-day building operations.
