Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the community safe, clean, and well‑functioning for residents and staff. You will complete assigned work orders, perform basic repairs, and support with painting, HVAC, and preventative maintenance.

This role emphasizes safety, OSHA standards, and routine building operations. You will assist with suite make-ready, manage tools and inventory, and participate in emergency drills.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance tasks and completing work orders.
• Ability to follow safety standards and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory.
• Support carpet and floor care as needed.
• Assist with suite “make-ready” preparation.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned.
