Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living, LLC in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our community safe, clean, and well‑functioning for residents, families and staff. You’ll handle routine maintenance tasks, assist with plumbing, electrical work, painting, and furniture repairs, and support HVAC and safety checks.

You will follow OSHA and infection control standards, participate in emergency drills, and assist with suite make‑ready preparation while maintaining tools and inventory

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory.
• Support carpet and floor care as needed.
• Assist with suite make-ready preparation.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned.
