Job summary

Scenic Living Communities in Iowa Falls, IA is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role supports the Plant Operations Director by maintaining the community facility for residents, staff and visitors, including painting, repairs, plumbing, and general upkeep.

You will work independently, perform preventive maintenance, monitor heating, cooling, ventilation and other systems, respond to work orders, and ensure safety and quality in every task.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry.
• Valid driver's license with ability to obtain class D Chauffeurs’ license.
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and service equipment and furnishings as required.
• Operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Monitor and maintain heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, and water systems.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of maintenance supplies, chemicals, and tools in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and maintenance logs.
• Assist with transportation of residents as needed.
• Perform floorcare as needed.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
• On-call as assigned.
