Job summary

The RHF (Retirement Housing Foundation) oversees maintenance at The Carlin community in Arlington, VA, ensuring safe, clean, and welcoming environments for senior residents.

The role supports the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager through routine maintenance, timely service requests, and turnover processes, while keeping the shop organized and complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in maintenance field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; ability to read manuals.
• Skilled with hand and power tools for repair tasks.
• Basic English communication for effective interactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior appearance of buildings and property by daily janitorial tasks in common areas.
• Complete unit turnovers within 3 days of move-out when needed.
• Perform painting and preventative maintenance per schedule.
• Assist in apartment and systems inspections as required.
• Respond to work orders for units and common areas; log details in OneSite.
• Address maintenance emergencies, including after-hours as needed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Coordinate with vendors; monitor landscape contractor for satisfactory work.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations (REAC/NSPIRE).
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
