Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead and manage the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community’s physical plant. You will oversee maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safe, clean, and comfortable operations in line with policy and procedure.

You’ll perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks; supervise staff; inspect grounds daily and maintain a tour-ready property, while ensuring compliance with health and safety

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer two (2) years experience in the building industry, maintenance and/or housekeeping.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
• Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.
• Able to work with seniors and interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
• Able to be flexible, adapt to change, prioritize tasks and make decisions in stressful situations.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• Vaccination/testing may be required to protect health of team and residents.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mechanical ability to work on equipment and repair tasks.
• Electrical duties: troubleshoot, identify problems and repair electrical components.
• Structural duties: plan, order and install cabinets; perform carpentry and related repairs.
• Painting duties: plan, order and perform interior/exterior painting; dispose of materials per guidelines.
• Plumbing duties: plan and perform minor plumbing repairs such as faucets and drains.
• Conduct daily inspection of the property’s outside grounds and address items to keep the property tour-ready.
