Job summary

The FORUM in Cupertino, CA is seeking a hospitality-focused Lead Cook to lead hands-on production in the Community Culinary Services Department. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork, with an expectation to train cooks and supervise staff.

This on-site position offers an hourly wage of $28.21–$35.69 with a $2.00 weekend differential, requires weekend/holiday availability, and includes comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with dining preferred.
• Culinary education and supervisory background desirable.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, measurements, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assists with training and development of Cooks and Dishwashers when needed.
• Assigns work to other staff, as directed by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Sous Chef.
• Maintains kitchen equipment and prepares bulk production items.
• Maintains food safety standards and sanitary workspace.
• Assists with receiving deliveries and organizing storage.
• Cross-trained to competent level across all stations.
• Uses POS system and ensures plates meet presentation standards.
• Directs kitchen in absence of chefs.
• Supports catering and holiday events.
• Supervises dishwashers on cleaning projects.
