Job summary

The Village of Heather Hills in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Cook to perform advanced food preparation for residents following dietary guidelines. The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and leadership in the absence of management.

Responsibilities include producing meals, supervising staff, keeping records, and ensuring timely service. The position offers both part-time and full-time options with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1 year experience cooking in quantity; knowledge of seasoning and cooking times.
• 1 year experience with cooking utensils/equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Work with team to provide quality service for residents.
• Review production information and monitor quantities and waste data.
• Prepare all food items per department standards and meet dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure dining room cleanliness and presentation.
• Supervise and guide other staff as needed in absence of manager.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure timely food preparation.
• Participate in training and follow state regulations.
