Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a Kitchen Cook to prepare nutritious meals from scratch, working with a team to ensure smooth, safe operation and adherence to Hawthorn menus and portion controls.

The role requires serving meals on time, following sanitation procedures, and maintaining knowledge of the employee handbook. The position is a universal worker role with cross-training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Two years experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to read and prepare Hawthorn Senior Living recipes.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow food service sanitation practices.
• Maintains food handlers permit as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations.
• Maintains CPR and first aid certification as necessary to fulfill state or provincial regulations.

Responsabilités

• Prepare meals from Hawthorn Senior Living menus and recipes.
• Follow portion control policies and safe food handling procedures.
• Ensure availability of food, supplies and staff for meals.
• Oversee preparation of serving carts and serve meals attractively and punctually.
• Maintain cleaning schedule and keep kitchen areas clean and sanitized.
