Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a kitchen cook to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals from scratch and work with a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations. The role includes cross-training and following Hawthorn menus and portion-control standards.

The position requires a Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent experience and at least two years in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking, with strong reading and record-keeping skills and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to read and prepare Hawthorn recipes.

Responsibilities

• Regular, on-site attendance as scheduled.
• Prepare meals following Hawthorn menus and recipes.
• Follow portion-control standards and safe food-handling procedures.
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Maintain logs, reports, and records as required.
