Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a dedicated team member to prepare, wash, and store dishes while assisting with meal service for residents. This universal position will be cross-trained in other duties as directed by the Community Executive Chef, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and resident-focused service.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, setting tables, assisting chefs, and adhering to safety procedures in a busy dining environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• General knowledge of cleaning and sanitation.
• Maintains food handlers permit as necessary to fulfill state regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash and store dishes following Hawthorn Senior Living procedures.
• Clean dishwashing area following sanitation procedures.
• Assist in bussing, serving, and delivery of room trays if needed.
• Setting of tables in the dining room.
• Assist Chefs/Cooks in cleaning areas and floors; complete cleaning duties.
• Work as part of the food services team to ensure smooth operations.
