Job summary

Crisp Regional Health Services is seeking a Cook to join the Nursing Home team. Under the direction of the Manager, Food Service, you will prepare, season and cook meals for residents, staff and visitors, ensuring quality, safety and timely service.

You will follow recipes and mealtime schedules, maintain cleanliness, proper storage, and sanitation standards while supporting a respectful, collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED state certification.
• Experience: Requires little to no work-related experience.
• Licensure, Registrations & Certifications: No professional licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Follows all food production tallies, identifies portion sizes, diets, counts and distribution for trays and cafeteria.
• Follows all recipes to ensure consistent product quality.
• Ensures foods are prepared by established mealtimes and served at proper temperatures.
• Uses proper roast procedures on meat items to ensure high quality and limit waste.
• Ensures quality of all prepared foods by appearance, aroma and taste.
• Stores foods properly, labeled and dated, to prevent spoilage.
• Returns leftovers to appropriate storage during shift.
• Uses leftovers while maintaining quality and nutrition.
• Maintains clean-as-you-go practices and sanitation of areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Follows sanitation standards and health codes.
• Adheres to safety procedures when operating kitchen equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
