Job summary

Prestwick Village is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare meals according to menus and dietary requirements, ensuring timely service and appealing presentation.

Work closely with the Dietary Manager, train new kitchen staff as needed, manage inventory, and accommodate residents' dietary requests while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary requirements.
• Serve meals timely with high quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and proper food handling.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and staff; assist in training new kitchen staff.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages to the Dietary Manager.
• Accommodate residents' dietary requests and preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
