Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in Richmond, VA is hiring a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. This full-time role offers a Mon-Fri schedule with occasional weekend work and a $16 per hour rate.

The Housekeeper will perform daily cleaning, assist with laundry, and ensure safety standards are met across resident living spaces. This position provides competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, team members, and supervisors.
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, cleaning instructions, and procedures.
• Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedules, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning in resident apartments, common areas, lounges and offices.
• Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, and clean floors and surfaces.
• Clean, sanitize bathrooms, sinks, showers, and fixtures.
• Dust and sanitize furniture, lamps, windows, and walls.
• Store cleaning chemicals safely and securely.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Follow safety and infection control practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
