Job summary

Blue Palms Senior Living of DeLand is seeking a Business Development Director for ALF/IL to lead census development and occupancy management, ensuring financial goals are met while complying with local, state, and federal standards.

You will develop relationships with hospitals, physicians, senior centers, and other referral sources, oversee admissions coordination, and promote safe, compliant operations across the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of census development and occupancy management experience in an AL/IL setting.
• Knowledge of nursing/medical practices and regulations for Assisted Living/Independent Living.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, and evaluate the overall operation to achieve census goals while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate admission practices and adjust as needed to meet census goals.
• Maintain open collaboration between the business office and Admissions Director to align occupancy and collections.
• Develop internal census sales strategy with the Admissions Coordinator and Director of Business Development; build relationships with referral sources.
• Identify new referral opportunities and communicate facility services.
• Assist with referrals and processing daily; keep status of referrals current.
• Record pay status changes in census tool and resident records at admission.
• Ensure behavior aligns with occupancy and customer service goals.
• Ensure admission paperwork is completed and filed per policy.
• Inform Administrator of obstacles to admitting residents and provide solutions.
• Provide tours to potential residents and wellness checks to the Independent Living community.
• Develop and stage model units as needed; upload documents into facility systems.
• Promote safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
