Job summary

HarborChase of Plano seeks a Maintenance/Housekeeping technician to perform routine upkeep and repairs in a senior living community. Responsibilities include floor care, floor sealing, trash removal, and daily safety checks to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents, associates, and visitors.

The role requires a High school diploma, 1 year related experience, and the ability to operate a range of maintenance tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• One-year experience in a related field
• MUST communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents and families
• Must know how to use maintenance equipment as required
• Must be patient with ill or elderly residents
• Willing to work beyond normal hours to solve problems

Responsibilities

• Performs upkeep of floors including carpet cleaning, deodorizing and sanitizing
• Strips, seals and waxes tile floors as needed
• Inspects hallways daily for carpet cleaning needs
• Performs community trash removal at start of work day
• Performs maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical as directed
• Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor
• Notifies supervisor of hazardous conditions
• Ensures maintenance items are kept in a safe area
• On-call for weekends and holidays for emergencies
• Obtains proper authorization before entering apartments
