Job summary

Discovery Senior Living’s Woodlands Village in Bradenton, Florida seeks a Director of Facilities to oversee all building, grounds, and maintenance operations. You will lead maintenance staff, manage safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate vendor contracts and capital projects to ensure a safe, welcoming community for residents.

The role includes developing preventive maintenance programs, managing budgets, and ensuring the environment supports resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or a related technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance and facility operations for the community.
• Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program compliant with standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff and, where applicable, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation teams.
• Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire panels and emergency systems are functioning safely.
• Oversee vendor contracts and capital projects with quality and timeliness.
• Monitor budgets and contribute to capital planning and cost controls.
• Conduct apartment inspections prior to occupancy.
• Assist with renovations to maintain a high-quality environment.
• Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal life-safety/environmental regs.
• Participate in Safety Committee and disaster planning.
• Prepare departmental budgets and analyze variances.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and provide on-call support.
• Foster a service-first, resident-centered culture.
